There’s something truly special about integrating timeless charm and personality into any space. And believe me, there’s no better way to achieve this than with a well-chosen antique. This past weekend, I ventured out, hopeful and excited, on a mission to find those vintage gems that could bring a unique touch to any room. I must say, the treasures I found were beyond my expectations.
We have some everyday things we are going to weave into our decor and in our home. And also the additions to my dog focused room for copies new big-boy room. Anchoring the entire space is this canvas wrapped trunk. A beautiful find that I have’t really seen before. I have seen a lot of trunks, but this well-preserved trunk wrapped in a canvas was very unique and perfect for some added storage around the home. A few pieces of art to add to my collection and a newer interest in dolls are fun little ways to add a unique flair to a cabinet or room.
Festive Finds for Christmas
Decorating with antiques for Christmas decor is one of my favorite ways to decorate. It’s a great way to showcase how a few color ways along with some earthy tones and textures can really give off a large Christmas vibe, without being overly whimsical. Using game boards and signs to give off the pops of Christmas reds and greens along with more Christmas forward items like vintage Santa dolls, faux Christmas trees, or even some ornaments, are great ways to give the vintage and subtle Christmas vibe without being too Hallmark. I like decorate with “implied” Christmas decor… it doesn’t have to say Christmas to be Christmas decor.
Each antique carries with it a rich tapestry of stories, tales of the times they’ve witnessed, and the hands they’ve passed through. With each find, I feel honored to weave these narratives into my own life’s canvas, merging the old with the new, the everyday with the festive.
