Amanda Data has been renting this 594-square-foot Upper West Side apartment for a year: I grew up listening to show tunes (big old-and-washed-up theatre kid energy here) while cutting up AD and Anthropologie Home catalogs — thoughtfully tacking each item onto my physical wish list with a layer of Elmer’s glue.

After I graduated from the cut-and-paste collaging days, I obtained a background in the corporate fashion industry, working with over 100 of some of the most recognizable apparel brands globally. The early days of my ladder climbing career is forever woven into the fabric of my story, yet some of my strongest moments of fulfillment come from the creative passions I’ve been pursing since childhood.

Soda Fountain was born as a platform for me to story tell, create fun content with flair, and editorialize products for brands that promotes celebrating everyday beauty in a deliciously colorful space! As a former fashion buying/trend forecasting girlie, I also continue to ride the daily high of scouting out and sharing up-and-coming curated assortments of home products that are unlike anything else you’ve seen before!

My home is an extension of my personal style — colorful, unexpected, and pushing the buttons in mixing prints, colors, and a lot of texture. I revamped the space fully on my own using a lot of secondhand and HomeGoods finds.

I painted every crevice and ceiling a different color and added wall paneling. My prized possessions in my home are various oil paintings from my sister that light each room.

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Texture and print driven, theatrical, homey

The living room is a pistachio planet! I also painted the ceilings baby blue and nailed on wall paneling. The artwork I purchased to hide my TV is what brought the room together; I then slowly acquired pieces that matched back to the hues. The pinch pleat curtains and fringe stools are my favorite!

If you rent, what is your rent per month? My rent is around $1,700 and it took about $10k to fully furnish the space

What is your favorite room and why? I love my living room! It’s a pistachio planet! I also painted the ceilings baby blue and nailed on wall paneling. The artwork I purchased to hide my TV is what brought the room together; I then slowly acquired pieces that matched back to the hues. The pinch pleat curtains and fringe stools are my favorite!

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? (Include links if you have them!) The last thing I bought for my home are two burl wood stools from Home Goods! I’m including a link to them via my Instagram page!

Any advice for creating a home you love? The vision was to merge eclectic, rainbow-hued shapes with classic and country style pieces. I’ve carved out an area in my living room to host dinner parties, and I purposefully made sure to buy functional, multi-use ottomans and stools to have ample seating! I use my home as an escape from the busy city and as a way to welcome and host new people. Everyone comments on how joyful it is!
