What Is 5S?

The 5S method is a Japanese automotive manufacturing concept that seeks to improve efficiency. The term 5S comes from five Japanese words — Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke — which loosely translates to Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain in English.
