As a hot sleeper, I’m always looking for ways to stay cool at night. On top of that, I live in Louisiana, where it’s warm most of the year. And with the scorching summer temperatures around the country, you can understand why cool and comfortable is of the utmost importance. When I finally turned to cooling bedding and stopped choosing the wrong types of sheets and comforters, it was a total game-changer. I thought I’d have to deal with night sweats forever!

Today, not only am I enjoying sweat-free nights, I’ve also got some great bedding in my linen closet. The piece that’s been on my bed all summer (so far) is Rest’s Evercool Cooling Comforter. It’s soft, it’s smooth, and best of all, it stays cool all night long. I had the opportunity to test out the bed blanket before temperatures skyrocketed, and it’s remained a constant in my bedroom ever since.

What Is the Evercool Cooling Comforter?

The bestselling Evercool Cooling Comforter is a hypoallergenic and pet hair-resistant bed blanket that’s made my summer sleep so much better. Its outer shell is made from a blend of nylon and spandex that gives the comforter its “evercool” quality, and the filling is a plant-based, high-performance fiber called Sorona. As a result, you get a breathable comforter that’s buttery smooth, steadily cool, and a little stretchy. It also absorbs moisture, drys quickly (yes, it’s machine washable!), and helps to regular temperature while you sleep. The comforter is available in three reversible colors — Aqua, Cool Gray, and Snow Ivory — as well as three sizes from Twin/Twin XL to King/Cali King.

While the Evercool Comforter drapes beautifully over the bed, I found it to be slippery when placed on top of equally silky sheets, such as the Evercool Cooling Sheet Set. If you want to make them more friction-friendly with breathable bed sheets, try linen, cotton percale, or bamboo. The sliding isn’t a dealbreaker by any means, but it’s better to know ahead of time so you can plan your bedding accordingly. The brand also offers a 30-night trial for the comforter so you can be sure it’s a fit, and there’s a one-year warranty in case you run into any issues that a washing machine can’t fix.

Why I Love the Evercool Cooling Comforter

Not only am I a hot sleeper, but my bedroom is the warmest room in my apartment throughout the year. There are days in the summer when I can’t get comfortable and I find myself kicking off the sheets to stay cool. That hasn’t happened with the Evercool Cooling Comforter. The entire blanket is cool to the touch, so if I ever start to feel warm, all I have to do is slightly change my sleeping position instead of throwing the comforter off of my body. Additionally, I don’t get the night sweats because the comforter is both temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking. I love being able to fall asleep and wake up under a silky smooth comforter. Since I don’t overheat, I’m not in a rush to get out of the covers in the morning. When it’s cooler in bed than it is outside, there’s very little reason to be in a hurry to leave.
