When it comes to shopping for the latest design trends, Urban Outfitters is one of the first places I look. They always have the cutest, high-quality pieces at pretty great prices, and their home-decor offerings are no exception. I especially love their peel-and-stick wallpaper selection. It’s all removable, so I often find myself scrolling through all of their many options and dreaming about the endless possibilities on my currently bare walls.
One wallpaper that stuck out to me is their Frog Toile Removable Wallpaper. I’m no stranger to toile, but I was drawn to UO’s modern take on this classic print. Toile, which is French for “cloth,” is a printed design pattern that features a repeated pastoral scene, typically on a white or off-white background. Each intricate scene depicts landscapes and figures.
Toile has been surging in popularity over the past couple of years, and it’s not hard to understand why. With the rise of cottagecore and grandmillennial styles that prize traditional design, it makes sense that this classically beautiful motif has resurfaced. It can even lean maximalist, if you style multiple toiles in a room together for decorative emphasis.
