I moved into my first apartment last year, and as someone with a lot of clothes, I knew having a laundry hamper was a necessity. While I could have opted for a budget-friendly one, I wanted to find one that matched my personality and design aesthetic. As I was scrolling online one day, I came across this adorable Ice Cream Cone Hamper from Pottery Barn, and the rest is history. 

Admittedly, at $149, it carries a hefty price tag, but something this cute isn’t just functional — it’s also the perfect decor piece. I decided I had to place the order. 

When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was how high quality it was, unlike any other plastic hamper I’ve had in the past. Handwoven from water hyacinth, it has a white-washed finish top and a separate deep base with an iron frame. It fits perfectly into the corner of my bedroom, making it easy to toss my dirty clothes in every night and pop the lid back on. As an added bonus, it definitely adds a bit of flair to my decor! While I keep mine in my bedroom, this would be perfect to add a little bit of whimsy to a laundry room as well. 

Although it appears small from the outside, it actually holds a decent amount of clothes, probably around one laundry load’s worth. My only qualm is that it isn’t lined, so I had to go out and buy a liner so the interior wouldn’t be ruined.

At the end of the day, not only do I love this hamper, but I always get compliments on it when I have guests over. I wish I found out about it sooner because my college self would have loved it too. If you’re in the market for a new hamper, give this ice cream one a shot because it really is sweet.
