I love my golden retriever much more than I hate having dog hair on my clothing. That said, I’ve tucked lint rollers in every room of my home, plus in both my car’s front and back seats. They work like a charm, but I feel bad about all the sticky sheets I’m sending to a landfill, and they’re also sort of an eyesore. But I’ve accepted their presence as the price I pay for unconditional love.
Then I discovered this beautiful, reusable gel lint roller from a TikTok by Annika of @sweetandtidy_. It comes in four colors and is easy to use. Simply pop the sphere open and roll on the clothing. When the ball is full, remove it from the case, rinse off the lint, and it’s ready to go again. The water beads right off the gel surface and dries almost immediately after rinsing.
Some commenters worried it couldn’t hold very much hair before needing a rinse, due to its diminutive size, but Annika says it can hold the equivalent of two to three sheets of a traditional lint roller. That tracks with my experience; I was able to remove dog hair from my husband’s sweater and my daughter’s shirt before the roller needed clearing.
For travel, this little beauty is a game-changer. I’ll never again have to guess how many sheets I’ll need, and it takes up almost no space in my suitcase. For everyday use, it can live in a bag or pocket, and I’ll never find myself out in the bright light of day, helplessly realizing I didn’t entirely remove all signs of my fur baby from my pants.
Priced at under $15, the roller is not built like a tank. Some reviewers on Amazon complained that the gel ball occasionally pops out of the case in their purses. This isn’t a deal-breaker for me, but if you’re going to find this annoying, it’s something to note.
One last word of caution before you do as I did and click “buy now”: Be sure to keep it away from your dog, if you have one, as this adorable little roller looks like a toy.
The Amazon listing claims the roller’s transparent ball can last 10 years before needing to be replaced. Even if it lasts half that long, I’m going to save a lot of money on lint roller refills.
